Obituary of Janet Elizabeth Ferguson

It is with sadness that the family of Janet Elizabeth (Meagher)Ferguson announce her passing on November 1,2022, at the age of 82 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Halifax on July 8, 1940, she was predeceased by her father George Albert Meagher, mother Marjorie Irene Purvis, stepfather Earl William White and brother Francis Edward Meagher. Survived by son, Michael Ferguson; daughter, Heather Ferguson (Robert); and granddaughter Ava Marjorie. Also survived by brother, David White (Beverley); sister, Carol White-Ritcey (Jim); sister-in-law, Olga Meagher; and cherished nieces and nephews. Janet had a kind, indomitable spirit and a smile for everyone. Despite some of the struggles she faced, Janet always had a positive outlook and a great zest for life. A very special thanks to Mae Saunders, a lifelong friend for all her love and support. Thanks to the Northwood Centre staff for their compassionate care. Donations in Janet’s memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Northwood Foundation.
