Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Payne) Kelloway.
Thelma was a stay-at-home mom, who loved being a mother to her own children and all the other kids in the neighborhood. She enjoyed going on her weekly shopping trips and finding the best bargains. She loved babies; she enjoyed snuggling them, nurturing them, loving them and even shopping for them.
Mom is survived by her loving children, Patsy (John) Wadden, Main-a-Dieu, Kenny, and David (Phil), both of Glace Bay, Darren (Judy), Mira and Liesje MacDonald (Lee), Kitchener, ON; 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Marion Madore and Diane McMillan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Murdock MacDonald, daughter, Linda Tozer and several siblings.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, 84 Kenwood Dr., Sydney.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022, with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
