Obituary of Helen Jane Wilson

Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Sister, and friend Helen Jane Wilson age 63 of Dartmouth passed away on October 26th in the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Mom was born in Chatham New Brunswick on January 16th 1959 to her Father Enoch Wilson and Mother Edna Wilson. She worked in various nursing homes throughout her career and most recently with Quest regional rehab center. She had the biggest heart and was most happy when she was together with family, and especially with her two daughters Lesley and Loretta who she was so very proud of and made many memories with on girls’ nights and long drives back home together to Chatham where they'd sing their hearts out to their versions of carpool karaoke for hours. Mom also loved the beach and had a huge soft spot for animals and treated her cat "Monster" like he was her third child, often taking him for walks around the neighborhood and spoiling him with cooked meals and treats that he ate at the table like a human. She is survived by her daughters, Lesley Bell (Shane Young), and Loretta Bell (Richard Brown); step Grandchildren, Lilith and Dameon Brown; sisters, Shirley Dickson, Eleanor Macdonald (Terry Macdonald) and Kay Yvonne (Joe Yvonne). She was predeceased by her sisters, Lou Breau and Joanie Wilson and Brothers Carl Wilson and Beaver Wilson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday November 2, 2022 from 6pm to 9pm at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial specialists 71 McQuade Lake Crescent Halifax. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the SPCA of Nova Scotia. Special thank you to Lynn Francis for being such a good friend to Mom before and especially during her illness, also to VON, the palliative care team, and the Nurses on 3B at the VG who were amazing in caring for our mother during this difficult time.
