Obituary of Brenda Marie Boutilier

Brenda Marie Boutilier, 70 Glace Bay, NS It is with great sadness that we the family of Brenda Marie Boutilier, 70, of Glace Bay, announce her passing on Monday, October 17, 2022, in Halifax. Brenda was the only daughter of the late Melvin and Marg Holloway. A graduate of St. Michael High School, Brenda then went on to become a waitress at the House of Wong Restaurant in Glace Bay. Brenda was also employed at the Metropolitan Store for several years where she was manager of the Toy Department. Brenda loved playing darts and was a member of the Women’s Dart League at Caledonia Athletic Club and played on a Family Team in various tournaments. She was a skilled Tarbish player and spent many nights playing with family and friends. Brenda enjoyed making plastic canvas and was an avid reader who was always seen with a book or her Kobo reader. Brenda is survived by her husband Dougie of over 45 yrs., her son, and only child, Melvin Douglas (Tracey); brothers: Kevin (Hawk) (Darlene), Thomas (Donna), and Blaine. Brenda is also survived by five grandchildren: Alex (Lillah), Samantha, Bennett, Andrew, and Jovie. Along with her parents, Brenda is predeceased by a brother Tommy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Halifax Haven Guest Home, or JBC School. Our family would like to give a special thank you to EHS, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, QEII (CVIC Unit), Halifax Haven, as well as family and friends. Visitation for the late Brenda Marie Boutilier will be held on Saturday, Oc October 29, 2022, from 10-11 a.m., and a Celebration of Life to follow at 11 a.m., with Peggy (Tracey) MacKinnon presiding, in T.J.
