Obituary of Richard Allen Lee

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Allen “The King” Lee age 66 of Beechville, on October 4th, 2022, at the QEIl hospital, Halifax Nova Scotia.
He was born on May 19th, 1956, in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. He was the youngest of 9 siblings, the son of the late Annie Mae Lee and adopted son at age 6 of the late Clement Fredrick Gough and Gertrude Jane (Ash) Gough.
He is predeceased by sisters, Gloria, Louise, and Joan. Brothers, Wayne, and Scotty.
Richard is survived by daughter, Amanda Lawrence (Rodney); grandsons, Jayden and Cameron Lawrence (Halifax); and siblings, Mary (André) Kingston, NS, Tom and Larry (Pearl) Middleton, NS.
Richard was a walking legend in his own right. He was loved by his community for his unconditional kindness and willingness to help everyone. He lived an adventurous life and was a great storyteller, no matter how tall the tale.
Richard had a marvelous sense of humour with a distinguished laugh; a brilliant smile and accepting of others with gratitude and graciousness. Richard loved music and had exceptional dance moves. He enjoyed playing baseball and spending time with his favourite Uncle Leo aka “Uncle Whoppie”. He was resourceful, friendly and had a huge heart. He will always be remembered for his extraordinary physical strength, and generosity. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and community.
A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 2pm at Beechville Baptist Church, 1135 St Margaret’s Bay Rd, Beechville, NS with the repast to follow.
