MERLIN (Collier), June Catherine
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of June Merlin of Halifax on September 28, 2022. Daughter of the late Lester Bruce and Mary Ann Collier(Denty).
Survived by her husband, James(Jim) Merlin of 30 years; and her children, Joanne Truen, Bill(Darlene) Ferguson, and Brian Ferguson; stepchildren, Ann (Merlin), Gerry (Merlin), John (Merlin), and Doug(Majorie) Merlin; 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, and a baby girl on the way. Also survived by her sister, Edith(Kervin); and brother, Gordon (Collier), and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her first husband, William (Bill) Ferguson of 29 years; brother-in-law, Eric Kervin; son in law, Ivan Truen; and nephew Eric.
June was a resident of Head Chezzetcook for many years, moved to Timberlea, Dartmouth and settled in Halifax. Worked at Fossil Power for many years before retiring. Worked part-time at Walmart and Dartmouth Masonic Bingo. June made friends wherever she went. She loved to travel and spent several winters in Florida, and for the last 22 years, summers at their trailer in Wayside Campgrounds in Glen Margaret.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 7th, 2022, at 11:00am at the St. Catherine’s of Siena on Bayer’s road with Father Christopher officiating. Reception to follow. June will be laid to rest at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens after the reception.
