Edward Wesley Bond
Glace Bay
Edward Wesley Bond, age 66, passed away September 29,2022 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family in Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Frances and Wesley Bond. Edward was employed with Devco as a coal miner.
Edward was very handy and enjoyed cabinet making and carpentry as a hobby. He was very skilled at both. Edward was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his four grandchildren, he loved spending time with them, and he never missed an opportunity to spoil them with treats. On Saturday nights he could be found in “the barn” with family and friends.
Survived by his wife Kathy MacDonald; two sons, Edward Jr. (Samantha), Joel (Adele); three daughters, Kim, Lorraine, Keshia (Mike); his whole world, his four grandchildren, Chase, Nathan, Brayden and Ollie. He is also survived by his four sisters, Lorraine (Wally) McNutt, Bev (Bill) Jackson, Lesley (Shelly) Shaw, April (Robert) Gouthro; and one brother Dwight (Marilyn) Bond.
brothers-in-law, John O’Leary, Alex (Barb), George (Dena), Gary (Jeri), Lawson (Monica); sister-in- law, Sharon as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Bruce Bond; sister, Cheryl O’Leary; sister Cynthia in infancy; sister- in-law, Carol (Joe) Gallant; brother-in- law, Kevin Walsh.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, from 1-2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Alison Etter officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS.
