Treva Genevieve Cole ( Sanford), Dartmouth passed away August 15th, 2022 at age 92 at Ivany Place, Bedford. Born and raised in Lower Burlington, Nova Scotia to Mildred Louise Sanford and Ainsley Marshall Sanford both of Lower Burlington. Treva later moved to Dartmouth where she worked with the Bank of Montreal. Beginning as a teller, through hard work and study, she became a loans officer with the bank. Treva will always hold a special place in the hearts of her family. A quiet force, she was kind and gentle, unwaveringly supportive, and dedicated to helping others — virtues she passed on to her daughter, Debora and her family. Treva also has many passions, including gardening, baking, bowling, and sewing. She was a member of the Grace United Church, Dartmouth, and had served as the treasurer of the U.C.W. for many years. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, James Cole in 2009 and survived by her daughter, Debora Simon (James); and three grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley), Gregory, and Alexander (Julie) — whom she played a big role in helping raise. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Eve, Benjamin, and Jasper. She loved being able to see them begin to grow. Treva is also survived by her sister, Goldie Fish (Ottawa); as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA. She was predeceased by her siblings, Thorburn Sanford and Ruth Allen. The family extends special thanks to her niece, Dawn Allen, who helped Debora in supporting and caring for Treva, particularly in her later years. Treva was loved by her friends and family, and will be deeply missed. Interment at the Riverside Cemetery, Lower Burlington, will be held at later date.
