Obituary of Phyllis Ball

Phyllis Ball, 91 Sydney, N.S. It is with deep sorrow, that we the family of Phyllis Ball, 91 of Sydney announce her passing on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, N.S., Phyllis was the daughter of the late Albert and Ester (Burrage) Fletcher. In her younger years, Phyllis enjoyed skating on numerous ice surfaces across the municipality and hardly ever missed an episode of Coronation St.; Phyllis desire was taking care of her family, whom she loved dearly. Mom was a loving mother, grandmother, and great nanny, who had a remarkable sense of humor, and was kind to all who knew her. For the past five years, Phyllis has resided at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, “Fisherman’s Cove,” Sydney, N.S. Phyllis is survived by her son: Keith (Lorna), Fredericton, NB; a daughter: Karen (Clayton) Murphy, Westmount, NS; 4 grandchildren: Allyson (Derek), Jerri-Lynn (Doug), Craig (Chrissi), and Deanna (Matt); 5 great-grandchildren: Carter, Chase, Brody, Riley, and Brooklyn. Along with her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Gerald. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Dr., Sydney, NS. (902) 539-7175, with Peggy (Tracey)MacKinnon presiding. Memorial donations may be made to the local SPCA.
