Obituary of John David Parsons

Dave Parsons October 30, 1957 - July 17, 2022 Dave Parsons beloved husband of Mrs. Bernice MacLean Parsons of Calgary, passed away in the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 64 years. Besides his beloved wife, Bernice, David; will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sherry Parsons (Mike) of Glace Bay, Crystal Parsons of Calgary, Shauntai LeClair (Aaron) of Calgary, and Victoria McNeil of Calgary. Dave will also be missed by his four grandchildren, Preston, Brayli, Kamryn and Lyneah. He will also be lovingly remembered by sisters, Annie Payne of Glace Bay, and Meta Robblee, of Foxborough; brother, Henry Parsons of Sydney; mother-in-law, Theresa McIsaac; special nieces and nephews, Christina (David), Janice, Joey, Darlene (Ron), Darren, Terry-Lynn, Troy, Brittany, Kristen, Cory. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Hannah Parsons; brothers-in-law, Bud Payne, Jim Robblee and Terry Wilson Sr; sister-in-law, Mary Parsons; special nephews, Jay Robblee and Terry Wilson; special niece, Alisha Fukula; very special friend, Keith MacKay; father-in-law, Jackie McIsaac; and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Adams. Dave was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother. He was Papa Dave to Preston, Brayli, Kamryn and Man-Ma to Lyneah. His grandchildren had a special place in his heart. Dave had an incredible work ethic. He developed lasting friendships while employed at Highland Fisheries, Glace Bay. As a Millwright he then joined Local 1460 in Alberta where he worked with many people with whom he formed lasting friendships. Anyone who met Dave certainly appreciated his sense of humor. He was an avid Montreal and Patriot fan, enjoyed a good game of golf, loved to travel, camp in the mountains and relax in his hot tub while listening to music. Dave met many people and developed many friendships, but his childhood friends held a special place in his heart. Dave will be sorrowfully missed by family, friends and his special dogs Henry and Lucky. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 21 from 2-4 with a celebration of life to follow at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, (902) 849-4199.
