Obituary of Brian Robert Dunlop

Brian Robert Dunlop, 74 Glace Bay, NS It is with deep sadness that we the family of Brian Robert Dunlop, 74 of Glace Bay announce his passing on Monday, July 18, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, Brian was the son of the late John and Florence (Anderson) Dunlop. Brian was employed with Red and White Grocery Store and Highland Fish plant during his life. He loved a good game of cards with his family, particularly with his sister, Doretta, which would always end in an argument between the two. Brian also loved a good game of pool with family, and friends. He always enjoyed the time he spent with friends at the Legion and the Sergeant’s Mess. Brian is survived by his wife, Brenda Elizabeth (Yorke) Dunlop of 49 years; a son, John Robert 'Jim Bob' (Marium) Dunlop; daughter, Laura Lee (Kenneth) Dunlop/Wells; five brothers, John (Bernice), Danny (Patsy), Calvie (Margie), and Blair (Carol); two sisters, Doretta (Roy, (Deceased) Moore, and Barbara (Ronnie) Royal; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Paige, Wyatt, Dylan, Riley, Reese, and Olivia; as well as nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and extended family. Along with his parents, Brian was predeceased by a sister, Florence Gillis, and brother and sister-in-law, Wayne (Fay) Dunlop. Cremation has taken place. A gathering for friends and family of Brian will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 1-3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. (902) 849-4199. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to charity of one’s choice.
