Obituary of Roger Sampson

It is with complete heartbreak that the family of Roger Sampson, age 65 of Bedford, announce his sudden passing on May 5th, 2018 at home. The son of the late Deserie and Agnes Sampson, he was born in St. Peters NS. Roger worked for RKO Steel for 18 years as an Ironworker before retiring in 2010. He was a lifetime member of The International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers local 752 since 1979. He had a love for Harley Davidsons and enjoyed practicing Tae Kwon Do in his early years. He is survived by his partner Carol Ann of 24 years, son Shawn (June) Sampson, daughter Sybil (Todd) Ford, stepchildren Shannon, Dylan (Elizabeth), Jason (Sarah), Daniel (Krista), brother Gus (Anne), Claude (Brad), sisters Greta, Olive (Tony), Nina, and Lowena, grandchildren Drew, Kylee, Chandler, Nova, Isabelle, and Connor. Roger was predeceased by his parents Deserie and Agnes, brother Basil, nephews Norman, Christopher, and Iain, as well as brothers in law Michael and John. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 19th, at 2:00 pm at the Bedford Legion Branch 95, 1772 Bedford Hwy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford.
