Obituary of James Ivor Martin

60 of Middle Sackville, passed away July 16, 2022 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Wolfville, Kings County, he was the son of, Philip and Janet (Crocker) Martin. His favorite past-times were downloading movies for Kayleigh and going for drives through out the Valley. His many hobbies included fishing off the Meteghan wharf, watching planes at the airport with Kayleigh, bowling and family get togethers. His favorite holiday was Halloween and enjoyed pranking and scaring his family through out the year. He did not need it to be Halloween to dress up in costume. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Angela (Melanson); daughter, Kayleigh Martin, home; stepdaughter, Chelsea Demings, Ontario; stepson, Cody (Sarah) Demings, Dartmouth; sister, Darlene (Scott) Bonin, Middle Sackville as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Philip Martin. A celebration of Life will be held on July 24 at 2:00 pm, Sackawa Canoe Club 159 First Lake Drive, Lr. Sackville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor of the QEII for all the compassion and care he received as well as allowing family to stay with him 24/7 until the very end. “Don’t Cry because it is over, smile because it happened.” – Dr. Suess.
