Obituary of Randy Vera Emma Flynn

Randy, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2022. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Randy was the oldest daughter of Elmer and Georgie Hughes. The Hughes family moved to Halifax, where she met Errol Flynn. The two were married in 1966 at the United Church in Bedford, Nova Scotia and went on to have two children, Shawn, and Krista, and six grandchildren. Randy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. In particular, she became an avid sports fan, rarely missing any of her grandchildren’s sporting events! In her spare time, Randy was a real sewing enthusiast. When she wasn’t visiting friends and family, baking, or spending time with her children and grandchildren, she would sew clothing and blankets for local women’s shelters and charities. Randy was known for her generous spirit and kind heart among her friends and family alike. Randy is survived by her husband, Errol; son, Shawn (Sarah), Halifax; daughter, Krista (Alex Grace), Bangkok; grandchildren Isabelle, Oscar, Zachary, Angus, Hazel, and Basil, whom she loved with all her heart. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews and good friends. Randy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Heather Hughes, and Chrissy Hubley; and her brother, Gary Hughes and his wife, Gail. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
