Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacqueline Margaret Corkum (Vick) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 22, 2022. Jackie was born in Ottawa and grew up in Lasalle, Quebec but for 56 years, she called Nova Scotia home. Together with her husband Ivan, she raised three daughters, Colleen, Michelle and Lisa. Thanks to the example of their lasting relationship, the three girls met and married Frank, David and Ronnie. These boys became her sons and provided constant entertainment as they jokingly competed for the coveted title of #1. Though we all know, they were all #1 to her. Jackie was a devoted wife and an amazing mother but where she truly shone was as a grandmother to Megan, Jordan, Madison, Camryn, Ryan, and Ally. The devotion and pride she carried for her grandchildren was boundless. As we gathered around her in the final moments, Jordan put it perfectly. Our strength as a family comes from the example that she and Bumpy set for us. She loved her family fiercely and we loved her back. She will be missed by us all, as well as her brother Buddy, her sister Saundra, and her many nieces and nephews. She is free now to join her parents and sister Adele. Whether it was through a hand-knitted sweater, a gift from the casino, or a thoughtful post on Facebook, Jackie made it a priority to remind those around her how much she cared. Though we may feel moments of sadness, we can take comfort in remembering all the big and small ways she showed her love for us all. Jackie asked that there not be a service. We will respect her wishes and ask that those who knew her find a moment to honour her memory.
