Obituary of David Hugh Lunn

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
70, of Rockingham passed away June 8th 2022 at the QEII VG Site, Halifax surrounded by his friends and family. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Hugh and Margaret (Densmore) Lunn. Dave wore many management hats throughout his lifetime. In his early years, he worked as a sales manager for Canada Packers/Clover Group and Bolands Ltd. He moved on to owning and operating Springvale Grocery & Video and later, spent 13 years as operations manager with C&D Cleaning Services at the Halifax Dockyard. Dave’s management expertise brought him back to retail, where he travelled around the province as a senior manager for Dollarama. Just before Dave retired, he took a job where he got to drive the “cool expensive cars” as he worked as logistics coordinator at the Autoport. Dave spent many years camping in his pristine Mallard camper at both the Plantation, and later Riverland Campground. He could often be found on his deck with his legs crossed, taking in the sights and sounds of the neighbours, while sipping his favourite drink and listening to classic country music. He looked forward each week to campfires and cookouts with his campground family, where he was always quick to offer up his famous coleslaw. Dave was a loyal Nascar fan and loved to watch his Sunday races, betting on Dale Earnhardt Jr. and later Kevin Harvick. Dave took pride in a lot of things throughout his life whether it was his lawn/garden, his classic Beretta, his Ford Ranger truck, or his ability to always find the best price, bargain, or deal. One of his biggest accomplishments was being a father and a grandfather. His children, Khore and Alicia, and his grandchildren were the joys of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Dave is survived by his partner, Jenny Quek; daughter, Alicia Lunn (Derek Elliott); brother Carl (Heather) Lunn; sister, Marie D’Entremont; grandson, D’angelo Lunn; and granddaughters, Audrey, Amelia and Sonya. Dave was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Margaret (Densmore) Lunn; son, Khore Lunn; and sister Melda (Lunn) Goodwin. “Sadly, missed along life’s way, quietly remembered everyday … no longer in our lives to share, but in our hearts, you’ll always be there” Visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 11am-1pm with a memorial service beginning at 1:00pm at T.J. Tracy Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax. Pastor Josh Crawford officiating. Internment will follow the service at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
