Please share a memory of James 'Bim' to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James 'Bim' Henry Bradbury, 51 Glace Bay, NS It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we, the family of beloved husband, father, brother, and friend James 'Bim' Henry Bradbury, announce his sudden passing on June 4th, 2022, at the age of 51. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Henry Bradbury. Bim graduated from Morrison High School and soon after graduation, he began work as a wholesaler selling canteen supplies to schools and small stores. Bim went on to attend NSCC for automotive and service repair and was quickly employed by Disco Tire Sydney where he worked as an auto mechanic for 9 years. Bim continued his studies at the Maritime Environmental Training Institute where he received his diploma in Occupational Health Safety and Environment. After completing his training, Bim spent the next 5 years working out of province as safety coordinator and logistics lead. Traveling back and forth out west left Bim yearning to return full time to his family, friends, and his hometown. Bim returned to Cape Breton employed by EXP Sydney where he worked for 7 years. At the time of his death, Bim was employed with the CBRM Transit Service. Anyone who knew Bim understood his strong work ethic and joy for helping others. Bim enjoyed going for daily drives with Charlene, working around his beautiful property, long talks with his best friend and only son Anthony, playing cards with the “boys", big family dinners and gatherings. His favorite card game was cribbage where he would use a little creative counting to secure the win. His favorite time of year was Christmas because everyone was around, and he loved having fun. Bim’s fondest memories were made when fishing which he did with his dad, brothers, and Anthony. He loved being on and around the water. Bim is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Charlene (MacDonald); his best friend and son Anthony; brothers Darryl (April Allen), Timmy (Kelly Budden); in-laws George and Joanne MacDonald; sister-in-law Denice (Mark) Breen; nieces and nephews Jenna Clarke, Jacqueline Bradbury, Ryan Bradbury, Emma Bradbury, Jeff Sinclair, Jordan Breen, Shayne Breen; two grand-nephews (Lochlan and Harlan); aunts Lois Noiles (Carmen) and Carol MacLeod (Bruce). Bim also leaves behind numerous cousins, friends and of course his new furry best friend Bella. Bim is predeceased by his father Henry Bradbury; uncle Lawrence Bradbury; aunts Beatrice Curtis (Robert), Alice Rasmussen (Walt), Eileen Simmons (Sonny) and grandparents Henry and Margarita Bradbury. Visitation will take place at T.J. Tracey Funeral Home 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
