Slaunwhite, Sherry Ann Marlene Sherry Ann Marlene (Smith) Slaunwhite, age 64 of Terence Bay, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022, after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's Disease. While the disease ravaged her body, her mind was unaffected. She exercised control over what she could and opted to participate in the MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying) Program, passing peacefully, surrounded by her immediate family, at a time of her choosing. Sherry worked at Birks Jewelers until the birth of her children and later as an Educational Program Assistant at Terence Bay/Atlantic Memorial Elementary School for many years prior to her illness. She enjoyed tole painting, dancing, and camping at Riverland Campground. As well, Sherry loved to travel and she and her husband, Bruce, did so extensively prior to her illness to places such as Alaska, Ireland, Caribbean, the US and across Canada. She is survived by her husband, Bruce of 38 years; her children, Brandon, and Courtney; brother, Glen (Mona) Smith; sisters, Nina (Joe) Slaunwhite and Darlene (Pat) Callahan as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Donald, in infancy and Merlin; sister, Karen; mother, Edna and Father, George. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Terence Bay on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at 11:00 am. where she was a long-time parishioner and choir member, Rev. Jody Clarke officiating. The family gives special thanks to sister-in-law, Cindy, who provided at home personal care to Sherry for several years and the staff of Parkstone over the past year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church.
