When I was 15 years of age I worked at a teen clothing Boutique in the Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth NS. As I was walking in the mall on my break, Nicki approached me and asked me to come work for her at Mona Lisa (upstairs in the mall). Her shop was very glamourous with beautiful designer clothing. She gave me two lovely dresses to wear while working. In the fitting room she had pairs of high heels for customers to try on with the dresses. I used to wear her high heels and clop through the mall. She told me I looked like a Botticelli painting. Nicki was so kind to me. I really loved her. Nicki taught me a lot about how to serve customers and to sell. I even appeared in some of her fashion shows in the mall, and also a fashion show at the Italian Club. My parents would come into the store, and my Father being an executive would buy my Mother lovely dresses to wear to the functions they attended. My whole family got to know Nicki. Nicki had a wonderful sense of humour. There was always a level of enthusiasm and aplomb while in her company. I kept in touch with her over the years. I even went back to work for Nicki in my mid-twenties in the Delta Barrington Mall. It has been awhile since our last contact. Yesterday my Father told me of her passing. I will always cherish our special friendship and bond, Nicki has always had a lot of meaning to me in my life, as they were formative years and she took me under her wing.
