William Francis McIntyre, 88
Dominion
William Francis McIntyre, 88, of Dominion passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on May 18, 2022. Willie was born on June 2, 1933 and lived his whole life in Dominion.
Willie was a great family-oriented person and married the love of his life, Marie (Andrews) in 1958. They were known to cut a rug or two on the dance floor. He was as an amazing father to their two children, Bill, and Jacqueline (Ron Mansfield), and was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. Willie had a deep sense of humour.
Willie began his work journey with Bens, Sobeys, and the Heavy Water Plant, as well as many construction jobs to name a few, as well as being a Red-Seal Pipefitter. Because of his experience in construction, Willie had a hand in building our family home and in 1995 he retired from working with the Town of Dominion. Willie was a social and active man, and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, being a 4th degree, serving two years as Grand Knight. He loved watching sports and attended a few Red Sox and Bruins games over the years.
Aside from being survived by his wife and children, he also leaves behind his sisters, Eileen, Pat (New Brunswick), and Betty (Saskatchewan) and brothers Michael (Boston) and Joseph, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Willie was predeceased by his parents Helen (Nearing) and William (Bill) McIntyre, brothers Charles and Johnny, sisters Coe and Millie.
We would like to thank Dr. Lisa Gammel, the nurses, and doctors at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Poulos and the nurses at Pallative Care.
