Obituary of Mike Drake

Michael (Mike)Patrick Drake, 79 Glace Bay It is with deep sadness that we the family of Michael (Mike) Patrick Drake, 79 of Glace Bay announce his passing on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with his loving family at his side. Born in Burin, Newfoundland, to the late Rose and Basil Drake. Mike spent most of his life out at sea as a Fisherman. He also spent 10 years with Imperial Oil Ltd. Mike is survived by his wife Marilyn (MacDonald) Drake of 57 years; two sons: Mick (Tammy), Halifax, and Mark, New Waterford, N.S.; a daughter: Michelle, Glace Bay, N.S.; brother: Basil (Betty), NL; grandchildren: Chantel, Mark Jr. and Poppy’s best buddy, Nathan. Along with his parents, three sisters predeceased Mike: Isabel, Winnie, and Lillian; three brothers: Isaac, William, and Leslie; as well as a special nephew Dwayne. At the request of the family, no flowers please. Do a kind deed for someone in Memory of Mike. Mike’s family would like to thank the Dialysis Units in Sydney and Glace Bay; Nurses and Dr.’s at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, I.C.U., C.C.U., the Paramedics and Cancer Unit, most importantly Dr. J.
