Obituary of Frances Sudworth

Frances Sudworth Glace Bay It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Frances Sudworth, age 88, Glace Bay, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glace Bay, Frances was the daughter of the late Edward ‘Ned’ and Helen (Whiting) Ford. In her early years, Frances enjoyed darts, cards and Bingo, however her proudest achievement was her family. She instilled in her family integrity, loyalty and compassion. Nothing brought Frances more joy than knowing all her children and grandchildren were happy and safe. Frances will be sadly missed by her children, Gee (Laura Lea), Helen Ruth, Donald (Karen) Todd (Cheryl) and daughter-in-law, Helen. To each of them she leaves her undying love and gratitude for her beautiful grandchildren; Jennifer, Erica, Billy, Erin, Elysia, Lesley, Gerald, April, Glenn and Sara; as well as 12 great grandchildren. Her unconditional love, warmth and wisdom made each one of them feel as though they were her favourite. Selflessness and generosity are only two of the traits that Frances exemplified. She represented the good that we all need in our lives. She provided comfort and solice asking nothing in return. Her family was her sole focus; she worried over, took care of and protected them until the end. Frances is also survived by her sister, Delores Kelloway; brothers, Rocky (Thelma) and Glenn (Linda) and many nieces and nephews. Upon her passing Frances was reunited with her beloved husband, Bill; son, Billy; daughter, Alice ‘Sissy’; brothers, Jerry, Bun, Hoyles, Archie, Art, Sid, Paul, Danny (in infancy) and sister Alice. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00p.m. with Deacon Lorne MacNeil officiating taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S (902-849-4199). Burial to take place at a later date.
