Our family knew Gilbert as Gib. Like many of the Croft, Jack and Fernandez families, he moved to Halifax from beautiful St. Mary’s River and became part of the Eastern Shore contingent around Charles and Willow Streets. i am sorry to read of gilberts passing . he was always a very kind . Him and Ruby took care of use when mom was in hospital , they even took me in after my family broke up . they had Cathy , Allan and Wendy then in an apartment on Maynard St. he was a hard worker . only kind memories ,that was who he was . i am sorry for your loss

I am so sorry to hear this sad news! I met Gilbert and Carol 4 years ago through Chris at the Whites Lake Legion. We all played darts at the Legion as well as in the over 50 league. Gilbert was an absolute sweetheart of a man and I am so grateful to have known him, if only for 4 short years. May you rest in peace Gilbert. Dad loved to play darts . He was on the dart league for many years at white lakes legion. You played many years on the over 50 dart league at the white ensign legion ,ran the meat shoots on Sundays for many years . . You have touched so many in life. You leave behind memories in heart's of so many . You will never be forgotten
