Obituary of James Yetman

It is with great sadness that we the family of James Yetman of Halifax, NS announce his passing peacefully at home March 27, 2022. He was born August 25, 1956 in Halifax, NS. Son of Shirley and Robert Yetman. James is survived by his children Melanie Yetman (Wendell) Halifax, Michelle Yetman Halifax, Jonathan Yetman (Sarah) Halifax, Lesley Jackson (Robert) New York. Brother Paul, sisters Mary, Janet, Cathy and Sandy. Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, James is predeceased by brothers Stephen Yetman and Michael Yetman. James loved the outdoors fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed keeping busy a skilled handyman who always had various projects on the go. Most recent prior to his death, remodeling an RV to travel and share memories with his grandchildren who were absolutely the light of his life. Retired, James worked many jobs through his life from driving taxi through the streets of Halifax to a long-time longshoreman. He was first to help anyone in need and a friend to everyone. With grandiose stories and pranks, James the touched the lives of many in his short time with us. He will sadly be missed. A special thank you to James’ long time family friends and bonus family the Pennell/ Martin family for their continuous support through this loss. The family would also like to thank T.J Tracey burial and cremation, Halifax for their kindness during this difficult time. In honoring James’ wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on April 30, 2022 at 2pm at 95 Cavendish Road Halifax. In lieu of flowers, family welcome everyone to share stories, pictures and memories of James. Additionally, donations will be accepted to assist with arrangement costs.
