Obituary of David Raymond Petrossie

David Raymond Petrossie (79) passed away peacefully on the morning of April 17, 2022 at the Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Halifax, David was the son of the late Marcel and Jennie (Fleet) Petrossie. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Margaret; two daughters, Katherine of Halifax, and Sara Kroscen (Stefan) of Connecticut; three brothers, Carl, Lanny (Roxanne), and Lonny; five sisters, Sharon Dan (Walter), Lucy Adams (Jack), Caroline-Joy Hovey (Lloyd), Donna Pothier, and Janice Little (Keith), all of Halifax, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. David was pre-deceased by five brothers, Michael, John, Fred, Jan and Phillip; a brother-in-law, Charles; and a half-sister, Margaret. Early in his career, David obtained a professional certification in Cooking and shared in a partnership running a successful Pizza Delight franchise. His work as a Chef at the Lord Nelson Hotel and on the passenger train for VIA Rail Canada was a reflection of his continued joy in cooking. In addition to his culinary career, David was well known as a Taxi driver for the Casino Taxi service in Halifax. In retirement, David enjoyed being a crossing guard, helping elementary school students in Spryfield. David’s passion for good food was rivaled only by his enthusiasm for baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays. David was also an avid gardener, bird watcher, and enjoyed traveling on fun adventures with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and brother, who will be dearly missed.
