Obituary of Catherine Elizabeth Facchin

Catherine Facchin, Dominion December 25th, 1940 - April 10th, 2022 It is with heavy hearts that we the family, of Catherine Facchin, announce the news of our beautiful mother’s passing. Catherine passed peacefully early Sunday morning, April 10th, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Catherine was born in Bridgeport to the late Angus and Cassie MacMullin. Catherine is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, John Facchin, and their children Angelo (Karen), Angus (Debbie), Carmella (Murray), Johnny (Sylvia), Lisa (Willie), Cathy (Bernie), and Velda (Greg). As well as her many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews. Known by many as ‘Ma’ or ‘Nanny’ Catherine was adored by all that she met; always making a point to ensure that every person who stepped through her door felt like a part of the family. Although a biological mother to seven beautiful children, Catherine also held the title of honorary mother and grandmother to numerous more. Catherine is predeceased by her loving parents Angus and Cassie MacMullin and siblings Anna, Pauline, Joseph (Jit), and Rankin. The family wishes to thank the staff of City Homemakers, all of those who cared for our mother at both the General and Regional Hospital. Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit with Ma during these last few years - those visits were incredibly special to her. Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. A Celebration of Life for the late Catherine Facchin will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, Dominion, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau presiding.
