Rose Patricia (Steele)VanHorn, 75 Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we the family of Rose Patricia (Steele) VanHorn announce her passing at Hospice Cape Breton on Sunday, April 3, 2022, with her family at her side. Rose was the daughter of the late Mary Evelyn (MacPhee) and John Thomas Steele. Rose was a member of the Army and Navy Airforce, Glace Bay, where she enjoyed a good game of darts. Rose is survived by her three sons: Marvin (Cathy), Mel (Sherry), and Jack (Sally); a daughter: Linda (Terry); sisters and brothers: Skippy, Theresa (Donnie), Beverly (Ralph), Rita (Frank), Reggie, Bernard (Juanita), George, Sarah (Benji), Maryette (Cameron) and James; sisters-in-law: Patricia and Pam; Rose is also survived by five grandchildren: Ryan (Christin) Milley, Cory (Eileen) Milley, Katie (Braeden) Woodburn, Helena Woodburn, and George VanHorn; three great-grandchildren: Alexis, Carter and Jax. Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her partner of many years, Carl, as well as siblings Ursula, Bobby, David, and John. Special thank you to the Palliative Care Team at Hospice Cape Breton, “You work in Heavens Waiting Room, and you truly are Earth Angels.” Our family would also like to thank friends and family for all your love and support throughout Mom’s illness, thank you. Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.
