It is with intense grief, that we the family of Walter “John” R. Daley 61, of Dominion, announce his passing on April 1, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, after a short battle with cancer. John is the son of Rita and the late Walter (Wally) Daley of Dominion.
John is survived by his Mother Rita Daley of Dominion. John always had a soft spot for dogs and leaves behind his best furry friend, Maggie.
He was predeceased and now reunited with his father Walter (Wally) Daley, his sister Patricia Daley (Boland) and his long-time friend Florence Jury.
John was a proud papa who had a passion for hunting and fishing, anything outdoors. He had a green thumb that he inherited from his father, Wally. For numerous years he had a large vegetable garden he worked extremely hard on, just for his kids to sit in and eat all the fresh beans. John enjoyed having a beer and making good memories and he loved a night out dancing evenings in the kitchen playing guitar with friends and family. He could play various instruments, but guitar was his favourite; John genuinely loved music and spent his last moments listening to the radio. Dad was a great storyteller who enjoyed making people laugh, he would have a hunting story, or a funny story for you on demand. John enjoyed cooking and most of all loved a good lobster boil.
In lieu of flowers, the family are requesting live potted plants, the family will care for and nurture them to live on in John’s memory.
