Obituary of James Edward Geary

Age: 80, passed away peacefully in Glasgow Hall, Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth on March 28, 2022. James was born in Moncton, son of the late Gerald and Alice (Kean) Geary. He was raised in Halifax, graduated from St. Pat’s High and attended St. Mary’s University. He began his career in radio, working at CFDR and CHNS. He later sold and managed real estate. He loved all the summer of his life partly spent at his Aunt Alice’s cottage at Shediac Bridge, N.B. After her passing he and Linda enjoyed spending all their summers there from 1998 – 2019. Since 2019 due to his Alzheimer’s, he has been in care at Twin Oaks Hospital in Musquodoboit Harbour and Glasgow Hall where the staff enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour. He is survived by Linda (Tracey), his wife of 53 years, his brother Michael (Rolande) of Paris, France, cousins in Rhode Island and 3 daughters of his first marriage. Cremation has taken place. A private interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Bedford.
