Obituary of Teresa DeCoste

Teresa ‘Doe Doe’ DeCoste Glace Bay It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Teresa ‘Doe Doe’(Forbes) DeCoste on March 15, 2022 at 80 years of age at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay (New Aberdeen), she was the eldest daughter of the late Everett and Jane (Fahey) Forbes. She was a member of St. John’s Church and later St. Anne’s Parish. Mom had several jobs over the years but none more satisfying than the work that lied within her home. She was an exceptional homemaker, parent and caregiver. Doe Doe welcomed all who walked through her door. Mom was always a wheel in motion. Since she enjoyed being busy, she readily volunteered her services when needed. She was a force to be reckoned with and she was a fierce protector of her family. Her sense of humor was a terrific attribute. Mom is survived by her sister, Jane (Harvey) MacDonald, Mira; brother,Billy (Susan) Forbes, North Sydney. Mom will be sadly missed by her children: Kim (Charles) MacQueen, Dominion, Michael (Paula), Forbes , both of London, ON, and Janet Brown, Glace Bay; her six grandchildren: Garett, Brent, Kyle, Meghan, Margo, McKayla; and five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ron; brothers, Ruben and Tom; son-in-law, Shawn Brown. Visitation for the late Teresa ‘Doe Doe’ DeCoste will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 from 1-2 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Father Norman MacPhee presiding all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). Burial will take place at a later date in St. Anne’s Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Glace Bay Food Bank or a charity of choice. A special thank you to the staff at the Glace Bay Hospital for their special care during Mom’s final days, as well as Dr. Gordon Spencer for his many years of continued care. ‘Mom, we love you and we will miss you.
