Linda StPierre posted a condolence

Hello Anne and Clancey Family ~
On behalf of our Mom Tucker, and in the memory of our Dad Bud Neate (d. 14-5-2019) please accept our sincere condolences on the recent passing of Stephen ~ it's regrettable that both my brother David, and myself, Linda, didn't have the opportunity to know your family and, from all accounts, we missed out on alot of fun, mischief and enthusiasm... Not to mention the privilege of getting to acquaint ourselves with everyone, especially those who were the fodder of fables Dad regaled us with! Both Dad and Mom spoke highly of you and Stephen and how much they enjoyed being in your company. I do remember hearing about the 'Clancey Compound' at Ecum Secum (?) where my Dad spent a summer or a few more playing with all those cousins under the watchful eyes of Uncle Art and Aunt Kaye... (Such lovely people chosen by my parents to be my god-parents). I seem to recall a story that Stephen idolized his cousin Bud, no matter their 10 year age difference. Hey! I felt (and always will) the same way about him with 25 years separating us!
My apologies Anne, for reminiscing about Stephen from my vantage point --- way in the past ~ I wish our family had had a more current relationship... Memories truly are the treasures of our hearts...
In closing I want to think that Dad and Stephen linked up (intentional!) on the golf course likely playing more 'remember when' than aiming for the pin, all the while enjoying each other's company! With our sympathy and hopes that you can take comfort from knowing how very much Stephen was loved ~
Tucker, Linda (husband Al StPierre, sons Greg ([Liz,Jaxson] and Stephen) and David (wife Karen, daughter Kelsey).

Dear Anne and family,
So sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I knew him when I worked at the central office of the defunct Halifax City School Board. He was a fair and supportive "boss", kind and good humored as well. He was truly one of a kind.
He shall be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dear Anne and family,
Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of COVID-19 has kept one from seeing old friends who were ill, then having them pass away. I knew Steve for over 50 years and worked with him closely for 19 at the Halifax School Board ... a great colleague ... direct, decisive, and a hard worker... and he was always willing to hear an opposing point of view and change his opinion when appropriate. I always appreciated his honesty, forthrightness, and integrity. One could not have had a better person to work with. As president at Oakfield, he introduced me to the club in 1979, where we worked on many club initiatives, improvements. We played together at the club, in HRM, the Apple Blossom, and in Florida ... all great memories. But all those pale in comparison to how he felt about his family ... his love of you, his children, and multiple grandkids. They were always paramount in his life, speaking often about their importance to him, as was his religion. I will miss him.

To Anne and family...
Sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was a good friend of Oakfield and while I only played with him a few times we did, over the years, have many discussions and even arguments.....which I lost, while relaxing after a round. He always would stop to say hi with a smile and a laugh. He was fun to be around and I will miss him.

Anne and family - It has been said that grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price of love. And he was dearly loved by many many people. I am including a photo taken in 2017 when we all managed to rendezvous in Florida. Just looking at him, I can hear his booming voice say "Cheers!"

I was shocked when I read of his daughter Marilyn's death so this must be doubly hard for his family. Please accept my and my family's sincere condolences. Dorothy Mitton
