Margaret Claire Christiansen
Dominion
With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our mom, grandmother, sister, and friend on February 3, 2022, she was 73.
Born in Glace Bay, she spent most of her life living in Gardiner Mines and the last five years in Dominion, where she made new friends and enjoyed visiting with neighbors. As a single mother, she devoted her early years to raising her two daughters. She provided child care for two children who held a special place in her heart, Kenzie and Kelsey from infancy to their teenage years. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, the return of Karen and Marshall each summer, talking to Janet on her way home from work each and every day and sitting around the table and having a good game of cards. She enjoyed sewing, crafting and most of all her weekly Bingo outings with her best friend and cousin Donna.
Claire is survived by her two daughters, Karen, NWT and Janet (Troy), ON; her only grandson, her little protégé, Marshall; sisters, Carole Franson AB, Maggie Miller, Sydney; brother, Donald (Rachel) Cosnick, Gardiner Mines; sisters-in-law, Frances, Judy, Debbie, Erika; brother-in-laws, Peter and Eddie; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Gussie and Edna Cosnick; daughter, Michelle; sister, Joan; step-mother, Pearl; brother-in law, Christian.
