Obituary of Tom Grant

Thomas (Tom) Gordon Grant, 71 Glace Bay/Grand Mira South It is with great sadness that we the family of Thomas Gordon Grant, 71 of Grand Mira South announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on February 6, 2022. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Gordon and Eva (Galliot) Grant. Tom was a devoted family man who loved spending time with family and friends. He and Sharon moved to Grand Mira in 2012 to enjoy the tranquility of the Mira River. They enjoyed spending time on their pontoon boat whether it be fishing, taking their grand children and their friends to jump off nearby bridges or to just cruising along the river. While living in Mira, Tom met many new friends and enjoyed playing Tarabish and darts at the local community hall. Tom enjoyed his visits to Athabasca, Alberta where he would visit his family there. Tommy had many Alberta friends who will dearly miss his storytelling and zest for life. Tom is survived by his wife Sharon (Thomson) Grant of 49 years; a son: Bradley (Hannah) Grant; a daughter: Amy Grant (Kirk); and two grand children: Abigail and Leighton Grant. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their compassionate care for Tom during his short hospital stay. May he rest in peace. Visitation for the late Thomas (Tom) Grant will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 1-2 p.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J.
