Age 84, of Dartmouth. Passed Away on February 3 2022, Shannex Glasgow Hall Nursing Home. Born in Halifax NS, she was the 2nd daughter of the late, William and Irene (McNeil) White. Born and raised in Halifax, Agnes attended Oxford School and was among the first graduating class of the newly constructed St. Patrick’s High School on Quinpool Rd. Once married, Agnes settled in Dartmouth where she raised her six children. A devote Catholic, Agnes was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the CWL at S Paul’s Roman Catholic parish. Agnes was a dedicated homemaker who loved sewing and knitting for her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing, travelling, tending to her garden and spending time in the sun. Her favorite spot was being at the beach and swimming in the water. She took great pleasure in her weekly bridge games with friends and neighbours which always included a cup of tea and dessert. Survived by her loving husband, Alvin Anstey of 63 years; her six children, Maureen (Dan) McAvoy, Michael (Kim) Anstey, Sharon (Roy) Dempsey, Lynn (Stuart) Lucy, Patricia (Dean) Clattenburg and Sean Anstey; her 4 sisters, Sylvia deYoung, Patricia Pickrem, Carmel, and Frances White; 8 grandchildren, Melissa, Megan, Roy Jr, Ben, Mathew, Scott, Amanda, and Ashlee; 5 great grandchildren, Hailey, Heath, Hudson, Huck & Kyan. She was predeceased by, brothers, Paul, and William White; and sister, Irene White A Memorial Service and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Special Thanks to the nursing staff at Glasgow Hall 2nd floor for all their love, support and care given to Agnes.
