Obituary of Jimmie Bryden

James Richard Bryden Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the passing of James 'Jimmie' Bryden, age 75, on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Joseph and Kathleen (MacMullin) Bryden. Jimmie was employed as a boilermaker with Local 73 for 54 years. He enjoyed the last of his years spending time in Florida for the winter months. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jennie (Locke); sons, John (Beth) and Bradley (Laurie Ann); daughter, Kerri (Bill) ; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Henry, Nicolas, Grace, Mitchell and Madelyn. He is also survived by his brother, Melvin (Brenda); sisters-in-law, Norma (Greg) Nearing, their son, Paul, and Helen Bryden as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jimmie was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Kevin and Cyril; sisters, Georgina 'Boo' MacKenzie and Eileen Lee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, An Cala or Hospice Program. Cremation has taken place. As per Jimmie's request, there will be no visitation or service.
