James Wesley Wrathall

James Wesley Wrathall (in his younger years he was also known as ‘Slick’), age 53, Gardiner Mines, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of Patsy (Gouthro) Wrathall and the late Johnny Wrathall.
He was a power engineer by trade and was employed at Lingan Power Station for seven years, also did pipe work in Alberta for various companies. He was well known for his stubborn streak and took great pride in winning a friendly argument (even when he was wrong, he was right). He enjoyed tinkering with cars and striking up a conversation everywhere he went, but his favourite time was spent with his two grandchildren, who were his world.
Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Wendy ‘his pretty woman’ (Christiansen) Wrathall;son, Austin (Shawn-Tiffany), daughter, Chelsea; granddaughters, Aleeah ‘the Boo’, Brynlee 'Little Girl’; brothers, Vince (Mary), Wayne (Connie), Willy Andros ; sister, Shauna Wrathall;
mother-in-law, Frances Christiansen lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Edward (Sherry); sister-in-law, Kim (Danny); aunts and uncles; nephews, Jeffrey, Jamie, Mason, Dawson, and Anthony; nieces, Emma, Jasmine, Kiley and Miranda as well as close friends, Colin Buchanan and Dave Buchanan.
Besides his father, Johnny, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Christian Christiansen; maternal grandparents, Gertie and Patrick Gouthro; paternal grandparents, Henry and Jean Wrathall.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service for family and friends will take place at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
COVID 19 restrictions do apply. Proof of double vaccination and Government Photo ID will be required. Masks are mandatory.
