Dear Family,
Bruce and I were saddened to learn of Mary's passing. I remember the shifts at the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital working with Mary, and there were many. She was a compassionate, dedicated, and hard working nurse with a wonderful sense of humor. I always looked forward to my shifts with her.
The several dozen beautifully crocheted Christmas fans which she made for me, still adorn my tree each December, and as I hung them on the tree each year, I would think of her and of all the good times we had together, I am truly saddened that she is gone. Our most sincere sympathy to each of you, we will be thinking of you in the difficult days ahead. Bruce and Janice White

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I have so many fond memories of times spent at your house. Your mother was a force - high energy, spirited, a leader, unafraid, positive. Although it's been many years, I always enjoyed any time I ran in to your mum at the exhibition. It was always great to see her. Sincere condolences to all of you.

I have such fond memories of your mom. She was so kind to provide us the opportunity to teach horseback riding lessons to many kids in the community. She organized a musical ride which we performed at the Halifax County Exhibition in Middle Musquodoboit and Truro Exhibition. With many late nights, she designed and sewed all the Henry the Eighth costumes for the ride. She was dedicated to your family and our community. Many of us were influenced in such a positive way.

Sincere condolences to the family. I can remember Mary's wonderful laugh from my times spent in the big house on the hill for Ada's birthday parties. I also remember Mary's hard work and dedication to the musical ride at the exhibition. It was a huge success for both participants and viewers, mainly because of her.

Saddened to hear the news of the passing of your mother. My family called Mary, Aunt Mary because of the importance, respect and friendship we shared. I spent countless hours as a boy in the company of Dick and Hinka in the deGier house and barns. My memories of Aunt Mary were of lady of strength, determination and kindness. She will be missed first and foremost by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many she touched along the way.

You always think you have more time,
Do not be fooled.
Years pass, months go by,
Suddenly you realize, maybe it’s only weeks,
Then you don’t even know if it’s days, hours, or even mere moments.
You can’t make it stop, or even hold on.
A death grip will not hold a life slipping away.
It’ll slip through your fingers and be gone like a whisper
You can’t get it back, and you can’t go back,
Say your goodbyes,
For time has run down.
A life has slipped away.
They’re gone.
You’re love for them is still here,
So is the heartache.
Hold those memories for they are precious.
You always think you have more time.
Do not be fooled.
~ In loving memory
