Born in Glace Bay, Frances was the daughter of the late Margaret “Peggy” Young and Tom O’Brien. In mother’s earlier years she worked at the Glace Bay Grill until she met her husband, Richard; they married and raised their family in Reserve Mines. Ma enjoyed the simple things in life, such as watching her Soap Operas, Daily Game Shows, Bingo in her earlier years, and a good cup of tea when someone stopped by to visit. She also looked forward to her Sunday drives with Da, and family gatherings were her favorite. Mom is survived by her six children: Richard (Winnie), Debbie (Lester), Margaret (Greg), Eddie, John, Michael (Judy). Her 13 wonderful grandchildren and her precious 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Carol (James), and Darlene; brothers, Aubrey, and Glen; Frances is also survived by her special friend and sister-in-law, Diane (Mickey); brother-in-law, Peter (Henrietta), several nieces and nephews, cousin and friend Celie and her fur baby “Precious”.
