Obituary of Teresa Somerton

Teresa P. Somerton, 56 Dominion, NS It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of our loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, Teresa P. Somerton, on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Donovan) Hurley. Teresa’s passion in life were her many fur babies, her cats, particularly Sapphire her constant companion. Teresa will be forever missed and loved by all who knew her. Teresa is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James Somerton; son, James Somerton, who was the light of her life and who always made her feel special for being his mom; Robin Jenkin, a special young lady whom Teresa and Jimmy thought of as a daughter. Teresa is also survived by brothers, Johnny (Colleen) and Roddy (Darlene); sisters, Janey (Barry), Halifax, Kathy (Gary), Glace Bay, and Kelly (Bruce), Glace Bay; goddaughter, Jerrica Lynn Sponagle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who were all special in their own way to her. Besides her parents, John, and Frances, Teresa was predeceased by her brother Jimmy, and sister Mary Teresa in infancy. Cremation has taken place.
