Obituary of Tiny Hickey

Duane ‘Tiny’ Joseph Hickey Tower Road It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Duane ‘Tiny’ Hickey, age 63 on Monday, December 27, 2021, at home. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John R. ‘Rue’ and Georgina (Deering) Hickey. Tiny was employed with Woody’s Tree Service. In his earlier years, he was a lobster fisherman by trade. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing darts and tinkering on cars in the yard. He loved spending time in the woods and at the ocean. Tiny was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need, he was a hard-working handyman; who will be missed by many. Tiny is survived by his sister Patsy (Ken) King; two daughters, 8 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, along with his dear friends, Brian Watkins, Woody, many nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved fur baby Meecha. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Georgina ‘Nin’ Rudy and Diane; his good friends, John MacMullin, Stevie Murphy and Eddie Yates. The family would like to thank the Paramedics who tried their very best and to the CB Regional Police for being kind and compassionate during this sad time. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service as per Tiny’s request.
