Obituary of Jose Gagasa

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jose “Pepe” Albis Gagasa, 78, of Agdangan, Quezon, Philippines on 10 December 2021 at West Bedford, NS. Born in Sariaya, Quezon, Philippines, he was the son of Gavino Gagasa and Petra Albis. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Margarita and his three daughters and respective families: 1) eldest daughter Carmela, son-in-law Edwin and two sons – Carlle Ehlrondt and Rhynier Mikkel; 2) second daughter Rona, son-in-law Marvin and son, Van Rhyker; and 3) youngest daughter Rhina and son-in-law Dave. He was a Geodetic Engineer by profession and has been an active member of St. Isidore Parish in Agdangan, Quezon, Philippines. He was a member of the Couples for Christ community and served as a Cluster Head. He also served as a eucharistic minister and a president of the Parish Pastoral Council of the said parish. He has been retired since 2002 and has been travelling to a few countries primarily in Singapore and Canada where his daughters are currently residing. Our sincerest gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics and responders who attended to Jose “Pepe” at the time of his need. Thank you as well to all the families and friends for your thoughts, prayers and support during this difficult time. The visitation will be held on Thursday, 16 December 2021 from 5pm to 7pm AST in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists at 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax NS B3S 1C4. A funeral mass will be held at 12:15pm AST on Friday, 17 December 2021 at Saint Benedict Parish 45 Radcliffe Dr., Halifax, NS B3M 0E1 followed by his cremation at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists. He will be laid at his final resting place in Agdangan, Quezon, Philippines on a later date. Covid-19 Regulations: Masks are mandatory, and proof of full vaccination and identification must be presented prior to attending both Visitation and Funeral Mass.
