Age 72, Halifax. Husband, father, grandfather.
April 22, 1949 - December 03, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mansour Antonios Daniel in the early morning of December 3rd, 2021 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born on April 22nd, 1949 in Brissette, Lebanon to the late Antonios and Elvira Daniel. Predeceased by his brother Joseph, his sisters Adelle Daniel and Wardieh Faddoul, and his nephew Robert Daniel. He is survived by his loving wife Eva of 52 years, his children Claude (Cindy), Claudette Saideh (Ibrahim), Tina Bahliss (Hady), and Charbel (Rebecca), his brothers Daniel (Hanne), Raad (Vilma), and Georges (Nina) as well as 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mansour immigrated to Canada at the early age of 20 to start a future with his loving wife in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A man of principle, Mansour was heavily involved in the Lebanese community being one of the founding members of Our Lady of Lebanon parish and serving as the president of the Canadian Lebanon Society.
He believed that nothing came before family. After losing his mother at the young age of 28, Mansour helped pave the way for family and friends to immigrate to Canada. On any given Sunday, you would find him surrounded by his kids and grandkids for some kibbeh nayeh, tabouli, and a glass of his home-made arak. After lunch, he would give us his famous line "I'll be back" as he disappeared for his siesta.
From humble beginnings, he believed in hard work and dedication. With his first job mopping floors at the VG, he quickly navigated the business world and in less than 15 years, he had established a strong presence in property development.
He worked hard but played harder. He loved people and couldn't travel anywhere in the world without running into friends or making new ones. Mansour loved socializing, entertaining, gardening, hunting, and playing cards or backgammon with his family and friends. He loved to take risks, and his luck always came through.
No words can sum up the impact Mansour made on this world. No matter how bad your day was, his smile was enough to remind you that everything will be all right. He was generous beyond measure and thrived on helping others in any way he could. His love and actions will resonate through time for eternity. He has made his mark, and for that we are forever grateful.
