Margaret ‘Peggy’ Semone Gouthro Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our dear mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend Peggy Gouthro on November 30, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mildred (MacLean) MacLeod. Peggy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was employed with the Coast Guard College for many years with her sister, Carmella. She also worked at Cape Care helping the elderly. She enjoyed baking, especially her famous pies. Peggy is survived by her loving children, Gilbert ‘Douie’ (Rosemary), Darrell (Cindy), Jason (Brittney), Geralda (Ronnie) Bryden, Semone Gouthro, Bernadette (Eddie) MacKeigan, Amanda Musial (Wayne); grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; as well as her best friend, Nancy Lyons. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Gilbert Gouthro; her second mother, Elizabeth Rennie; brothers, Laughie, Patty, Rodey, and Frankie; sister, Carmella. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021, with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-8494199). Covid 19 Restrictions - Masks are mandatory, the public are to provide proof of double vaccine and identification when entering the building. Sincere thanks to Dr. Cadegan (Brenda), Dr. Asim and the VON. Special thanks to Ma’s girls from the vascular Department of the CBRH who took great care of our mother.
