George William (Bill) Bonnar, 70
Sydney
George William [Bill] Bonnar 70, of Sydney son of the late William and Helen Bonnar, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 8, 2021, at home.
Bills education was continually valuable to him. He enjoyed his years at Sydney Mines High School when he was younger and formed many long-lasting friendships there. He was an active member of Cape Breton Christian Fellowship Church and enjoyed attending the Sunday morning service with Keith and Carol.
Throughout his early years, Bill took immense pride in working alongside his dad on his Lobster Boat and in time, acquired his own trucking company and appreciated doing short and long-haul trucking.
As he progressed in his career Bill became well known and respected in the Construction Industry in Nova Scotia and he continued to progress into more senior roles. His career included working in management positions for Harris and Harris Construction, and Pioneer Ready Mix. Bill also held a Senior Land and Business Development position with Membertou Development Corporation, and more recently took pride in assisting with development projects for WICO Project Managers, Riverwoods Development, Riverside Development and presently, held a leadership role with the newly formed United Paving and Concrete Company.
Bill is survived by sister, Lynn (Steven) Belshaw, as well as numerous relatives, friends and colleagues. He was well respected by all who had the opportunity to know him. Bill was considered a visionary and a true leader; and was always willing to assist in any way he could, whether it to be personal or in business ventures. He will genuinely be missed by many.
