Obituary of Loretta Nora Peters

Age 89, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2021 at Hospice Halifax.
Born in L ‘Ardoise Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Agnes (MacDonald)and Ernest Pottie.
She moved to Halifax, worked at Moir's, later met Dad and got married. She then made a career as a Homemaker. Mom was a skilled cook and baker, knitted dozens of wool socks, mitts and hats for the family. She made Sunday dinners, Birthdays and Holidays special. Mom and Dad enjoyed socializing with siblings and friends, lots of music and dancing were had by all. When Dad passed away in 1995 Mom reinvented herself, moved into an apartment and started a new chapter in her life. She joined Forever Young Seniors Club participated in darts, dances, bowling, and Bus Tours. She was an avid card player playing twice a week at the Club and at St. Michaels Church. She played Bingo and volunteered at the Club with all fundraisers and sang with at Seniors long term care Homes.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Brenda (Gary) Thompson Brookside; her son, Jerome (Brenda) Peters Williamswood; and 4 grandchildren, Brycen, Natalie, Kristy, and Jillian; and 8 great grandchildren, Kris, Connor, Dylan, Matthew, Ben, Madison, Nolan, and Quinn; her sisters, Gertie, Agnes and Hattie and her brothers, Larry, and Hector Pottie.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Morris Peters; and her siblings, Angus, Martha, Edward, and Gerard Pottie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax. A Funeral Service is to take place at Stella Maris Parish, St. Michael’s Church site, 6 St. Michael’s Ave. Halifax on Thursday November 4, 2021 at 11;00 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville.
Special Thanks to all the Staff at Hospice Halifax where Mom spent her last 2 weeks of life. Their comfort, and compassionate care was amazing, they are all truly special people.
