Obituary of Fred Parsons

Frederick 'Fred' William Parsons Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our loving husband, father, brother and friend, Frederick 'Fred' William Parsons, age 80, on October 29, 2021 at the Glace Bay Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Fred and Irene (Lawrence) Parsons. He was employed with Irving Oil and Devco, working at Lingan Mine for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he will be missed. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Haley) Parsons; children, Tanya (Eric) O'Neill, Tracy Wadden (Cliff) and Jason (Nicole); his ten grandchildren, Jarrod, Devon, Corbin, Cameron, Tempest, Carson, Bryson, Josh, Tyler and Noah and 11 precious great grandchildren; brothers Glenn(Diane) Parsons and Jim (Pat) Parsons; sisters, Florence Gibbs, Elizabeth Boutilier; sisters-in-law Carol Murphy and Delores (Earl) Weyman; many nieces and nephews as well as his best friend, Everett MacPherson. Besides his parents, Fred and Irene, he was predeceased by his infant daughter, Colette; son-in-law, Charles Wadden; sisters, Ivy MacNeil, Eva Wareham and Alice Jobe. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday November 3, 2021 with Fr. Duaine Devereaux at T.J.Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA or the NS Lung Association. Covid-19 Restrictions are to be followed, masks are mandatory.
