Obituary of Thomas Wilfred Murphy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Murphy. He passed away at the VG site QEII on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the age of 77 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late, Loren and Anna Murphy. Tom came from a large family from Wedgeport, Yarmouth. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rebecca (Kenney); daughters, Alicia Truro, Leah (Matt) Halifax; son, Shane (Megan) Fall River; granddaughter, Sophie, Truro; sisters Margaret (Atkinson), Marilyn (Wallace), Claire, and Stella (Anthony); brothers, Edward, Milton, George, and Roland. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Allan, and Bill. We were so grateful that we were able to spend one last Thanksgiving with our Dad before he ended up in the hospital. Thomas spent his career working in the elevator construction industry. A job that he prided himself in and one that lead to many great friendships. Dad enjoyed all things vintage and had a nice collection that he kept in his garage which he took great pride in. You would not be able to find a speck of dirt anywhere in the garage. We would like to thank all the Nurses and Doctors that helped our Dad over the years, especially the ones at the VG, as well as VON who were a wonderful support. At Dads request there will be no visitation or Funeral Service.
