Viola McPhee
Dominion
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my loving mother, Viola McPhee, age 81, at the Glace Bay Hospital, on October 9, 2021.
Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Kendall) Desrosiers.
Mom enjoyed playing card games with Francis. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; she will be missed by all who knew her.
Viola is survived by her loving son, Kevin; Danny Currie who she thought of a son; wonderful grandchildren, Brittany McPhee (Kevin Nichols), Santana Hogan, Jason Currie and Justin Burt; great granddaughter, Brooke. She is also survived by brothers, Martin (Brenda) and Allan; sisters, Frances Bennett, Ethel Tomiczek, and Peggy Desrosiers; special family friend, John MacLean as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis McPhee; two sons, Gerry ‘Dixie’ and Nelson; brothers, Freddie and B. George; sisters, Sissy and Wishie.
A special thank you to her sister Peggy for everything that she has done.
Donations in Viola’s memory may be made to the Dominion Hawks Club. Cremation has taken place. As Viola’s wishes there will be no services.
