Obituary of Cecil Sparrow

Cecil Sparrow Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Cecil John Sparrow on Friday, October 8, 2021. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Mrs. Loretta Sparrow and the late Joseph Sparrow. Cecil was a big fan of sports, especially baseball and hockey. In Cecil’s younger years, he enjoyed coaching Glace Bay Little League and MacKay’s Corner Soft Ball. Cecil also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his mother, Loretta Sparrow , he is survived by his sons, Johnny and Trent (Jessica), stepson, Brandon; daughters, Lacey (Larry), Tammy; stepdaughters, Amanda, Jodie and Kayalah; eight grandchildren Caleb, Aubrie, Zoe, Crystal, Mitchell, Jack, Emily and Kaitlyn; many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Joey, Kelly and Colin (Bonnie); sisters, Starla (Cecil) and Joanne (Fabian) as well as several nieces and nephews. Cecil was predeceased by his father Joseph G. Sparrow; brothers, Jerry and Maney; sisters Doreen and Noreen; sister-in-law, Iris. A special thank you to Catherine for everything that she has done for Cecil. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to T.J.Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
