It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cady Mackie while surrounded by her loving family at MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney, on Tuesday, October 12,2021. Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late Mary "May" (MacIntyre) and Raymond "Ray" Hall.
Cady devotedly worked as CNA at St. Joseph's Community Hospital from 1952 until retirement in 1992. She was a retired member of the former St. Eugene's CWL. Cady was also president of Resident Council at MacGillivrays Guest Home.
We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loving husband of 57 years Greg Mackie. Cady loved to do her crossword puzzles, garden, bake, but more than anything she loved spending time her family.
Cady is survived by daughter and loving caretaker Melanie (Glen); daughters Charlene (Brad) and Kelly (Craig); Grandchildren: Cherie (Michael), Katelynn (Matt), Kelsey (Bryan), Sarah and Joshua; Great granddaughters, Kaylee, and Jessa; as well as special niece,Cathy.
Besides her husband Greg, Mary was predeceased by siblings; Tina, Vincent, Alvin, and Willy; nieces, Judy and Wilena; as well as two sons in infancy.
We would like to give special thanks to every staff member of MacGillivray Guest Home. You made her feel so loved, in so many special ways you truly were her second family, and we will be forever grateful.
